Harmony is the largest gold producer by volume in South Africa and is a significant operator of gold tailings retreatment facilities. In Papua New Guinea, Harmony owns and operates the Hidden Valley mine and owns 50% of the Tier 1 Wafi-Golpu copper-gold project. Harmony owns 100% of the Eva Copper project, a near-term copper project in Queensland, Australia. These assets are supported by the Harmony Australasia regional corporate office located in Milton, Brisbane.

About the Role

Reporting to the Senior Project Engineer the Project Engineer, will play a vital role in delivering safe and timely engineering projects from concept to completion.

This role offers a unique split: 50% Brisbane-based (5/2 roster) 50% PNG-based (9/5 roster at Hidden Valley Mine PNG)

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead the execution of approved capital projects.
• Develop scopes of work and prepare submissions with cost estimates.
• Manage change processes and stakeholder communications.
• Ensure compliance with industry codes and quality standards.
• Coordinate site works with contractors, suppliers, and internal teams.
• Maintain accurate project documentation and reporting.
• Assist with other projects for the company as requested

About You:

We’re looking for a self-motivated professional with:

• Bachelor of Engineering (Electrical or Mechanical)
• Minimum 3 years’ experience in project engineering and construction scopes
• Contractor and package management experience
• Knowledge of HV electrical systems, VSDs, and BESS design and installation experience. (preferably industrial scale)
• Familiarity with Australian and PNG standards
