Job summary

Downer Group's Energy & Utilities division seeks a Project Engineer to deliver capital water infrastructure projects across the greater Brisbane area, including valves, hydrants and pump stations. You will collaborate with design, scheduling, cost and commissioning teams to ensure smooth transitions and successful project delivery.

Qualifications

• Project delivery experience in water/wastewater (preferred).
• Experience driving quality outcomes in project delivery.
• Degree in civil or mechanical engineering.
• Strong organisational and time management skills.
• Ability to build strong relationships with people.
• Proficient with computers and software.

Responsibilities

• Attend planning visits and concept reviews advising on constructability and delivery across time, cost, safety and quality outcomes.
• Support Scheduling, Cost Controls, Community Engagement, Procurement, Estimating, Quality Assurance and Safety teams in developing delivery plans.
• Provide technical advice and expertise throughout project delivery, addressing issues to maintain targets.
• Build and maintain relationships with internal/external stakeholders, clients, subcontractors and colleagues.

The opportunity

The Project Engineer delivers projects across capital water infrastructure including valves, hydrants, water pump stations, network renewals, water main replacements and more across the greater Brisbane Area. In addition to managing the Delivery phase of the program's renewals projects, you will be collaborating with design, scheduling, cost and commissioning and maintenance teams to ensure smooth transitions and project success. What you'll do

• Attend planning visits and concept reviews to advise on constructability and delivery across time, cost, safety and quality outcomes


• Support Scheduling, Cost Controls, Community Engagement, Procurement, Estimating, Quality Assurance and Safety teams in developing delivery plans


• Provide technical advice and expertise throughout project delivery phase, promptly addressing any issues and problem-solve to maintain time, cost, quality and safety targets


• Build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, clients, subcontractors and colleagues

What we’re looking for

• Project delivery experience within the water & or Wastewater industry (preferred)


• Experience in driving quality outcomes in project delivery


• Degree qualification in civil or mechanical engineering
