Job summary

Downer’s Energy & Utilities team is seeking a Senior Electrical Project Engineer to join the Water group at Mango Hill, Queensland. You will own the engineering and delivery of electrical components across diverse projects, collaborating with design leads, PMs, commissioning leads and site teams from design through handover.

You will lead project delivery, manage subcontractors, build client relationships and ensure safe, high-quality outcomes across water, power and renewables sectors.

Qualifications

• Tertiary qualification in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering.
• RPEQ qualification or ability to obtain within 6 months.
• Current Class C Driver’s Licence.
• Minimum 7 years’ demonstrated project engineering experience in an industrial or commercial environment.
• Experience managing subcontractors, suppliers and consultants.
• Strong ability in reviewing and developing construction drawings.
• Experience in financial management, forecasting, budgeting and reporting.
• Knowledge of quality assurance, project controls, safety and environmental requirements.
• Excellent communication, organisational and time management skills.
• Collaborative leadership to supervise Project Engineers, Site Engineers and Supervisors.

Downer’s Energy & Utilities business is seeking an experienced Senior Electrical Project Engineer to join our Water team in Mango Hill, Queensland.

Reporting to the Project Manager, this role will see you take ownership of the engineering and delivery of mechanical and electrical components across a diverse range of projects. You will work closely with Design Leads, Project Managers, Commissioning Leads and site teams to support projects from design and documentation through to construction, commissioning and handover. This is a great opportunity for a driven Senior Project Engineer who enjoys leading project delivery, managing subcontractors, building strong client relationships and supporting teams to deliver safe, high-quality outcomes across the water, power and renewable sectors.

What we are looking for

You will bring strong project engineering experience, ideally within industrial, commercial, water, power or infrastructure environments, along with the ability to manage technical, commercial and stakeholder requirements across complex projects.

• A tertiary qualification in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering.
