APS Industrial Services in Crestmead, QLD is seeking a Project Engineer to support day-to-day operations, plan projects, and coordinate labour and resources across Brisbane, Ipswich, Toowoomba, and the Sunshine Coast.

The role requires a degree in construction management or civil/structural engineering and 2–3 years' experience, with familiarity in steel fabrication and cranes preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in construction management or civil/structural engineering.
• 2–3 years construction industry experience.
• Experience managing rosters and workforce/labour allocation.
• Estimating experience – completing take offs and pricing.
• Strong written and verbal English communication skills.
• Knowledge of structural steel fabrication and erection (preferable).
• Knowledge of mobile cranes (preferable).

Responsabilités

• Coordinate daily operational activities across projects, sites and workshops as required.
• Assist management with project planning, scheduling and resource allocation.
• Monitor project progress and identify potential scheduling, labour or resource issues.
• Liaise with the Construction Manager, Supervisors, site personnel, clients, suppliers and subcontractors to support project delivery.
• Assist in coordinating materials, equipment, plant and other resources required for upcoming works.
• Maintain accurate operational records, schedules, reports and project documentation.
• Assist in preparing project estimates, quotations and tender submissions.
• Calculate labour, material, plant and equipment requirements for proposed works.
• Obtain and review supplier and subcontractor proving to support accurate cost estimates.
• Review construction drawings, plans and specifications to support project planning and estimating.
• Assist with tracking project costs, labour utilisation and resource allocation.
• Maintain clear and timely communication with internal and external stakeholders.
• Ensure relevant documentation is completed and stored in accordance with company procedures.

ABOUT THE ROLE

We are seekinga Project Engineer, QLD who will be responsible for supporting and coordinating the day-to-day operational activities of the business, ensuring the efficient allocation of labour, effective workforce scheduling, accurate estimating and smooth delivery of construction projects.

The role requires a strong understanding of construction operations, with the ability to coordinate personnel, assist with project planning, prepare cost estimates and take-offs, and communicate effectively with management, site personnel, clients, suppliers and subcontractors. to support the workshop & logistics activities within the business.

This position keeps the workshop and project sites supplied and running smoothly. It covers handling deliveries, keeping stock levels in check, and ordering parts and consumables from suppliers. It also involves picking up goods from suppliers and transporting materials and equipment to sites throughout Brisbane, Ipswich, Toowoomba, Sunshine Coast and Gold Coast.

The position will support the workshop with basic steel processing using mag drill, bandsaw and cold cut saw and understanding how to read fabrication shop drawings.
