Major Healthcare Project | Brisbane and Regional Queensland

Our client is a well-established, privately owned electrical contracting group with over 20 years of experience delivering major commercial, industrial and infrastructure projects across Queensland. With a strong reputation for delivering complex, multimillion-dollar projects, the business continues to expand its involvement in major construction and infrastructure developments. An exciting opportunity is now available for an experienced Project Director or Senior Project Manager to lead the delivery of a significant healthcare infrastructure project in regional Queensland. This is a senior leadership opportunity offering substantial involvement in project design, commercial management and construction delivery, working alongside an experienced team on a landmark development.

This position will see you based between both the companies Brisbane Head Office and on site in Regional QLD.

The Opportunity

Reporting to senior management, you will take overall responsibility for the delivery of a major electrical services package, encompassing electrical infrastructure, low-voltage systems, communications and security. The role will involve significant input throughout the design and construction phases, ensuring technical requirements, commercial objectives and project milestones are successfully achieved. You will oversee a project delivery team including up to three Project Managers at peak construction, together with site personnel and specialist subcontractors.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the end-to-end delivery of a major electrical and infrastructure package, from design development through to project completion.
• Provide leadership and oversight across electrical infrastructure, underground services, LV electrical systems, communications and security.
• Work closely with design consultants and engineering teams to manage design development, coordination and constructability.
• Take ownership of project commercial performance, including fixed-price contract management, budgets, forecasting, variations and risk.
• Lead and mentor Project Managers, site supervisors and delivery teams.
• Manage specialist subcontractors, procurement, construction programming and project resources.
• Build strong relationships with the head contractor, consultants and key project stakeholders.
• Ensure project delivery meets the highest standards of safety, quality and compliance.

About You

We are seeking an accomplished electrical construction professional with strong technical, commercial and leadership capabilities. Ideally, you will bring:

• Extensive experience as a Project Director, Senior Project Manager or equivalent within electrical contracting or major infrastructure.
• Proven experience delivering large-scale electrical packages on complex commercial or infrastructure projects.
• Strong understanding of electrical infrastructure, LV systems, communications and associated services.
• Demonstrated experience managing design development and technical coordination on major construction projects.
• Sound commercial knowledge of fixed-price contracts, project financials and risk management.
• Experience leading multiple Project Managers, subcontractors and multidisciplinary delivery teams.
• Strong stakeholder management, communication and leadership capabilities.
• Previous experience major infrastructure projects will be highly regarded, particularly an understanding of complex building services, technical coordination and operational requirements.
