Job summary

Capital Executive Search is seeking a Project Director to lead the delivery of a major data centre and high‑voltage infrastructure project in regional Australia, with hybrid working and travel about 50% of the time.

You will set the delivery model, manage EPC contractors and suppliers, and own budget, schedule, risk and quality while engaging utilities, authorities and executive leadership as the pipeline grows.

Qualifications

• Degree in engineering, construction management or related field.
• Proven experience delivering liquid-cooled data centre builds, ideally hyperscale or AI environments.
• Strong commercial skills across budgets, contracts and risk.
• Client-side or owner’s representative experience is highly regarded.
• High-voltage or grid connection experience a big plus.
• Willingness to travel ~50% and time on site in regional Australia.

We’re looking for a Project Director to lead delivery of a major data centre and high-voltage infrastructure project, then go on to deliver more projects as the business grows.

This is a construction and infrastructure delivery role, focused on building the physical facility: the buildings, power, cooling and grid connection. It is not an IT or software role.

You will:

• Lead delivery of a multi-hundred-million-dollar data centre and high-voltage infrastructure project
• Set the delivery model, contracting approach and risk framework
• Manage EPC contractors, subcontractors and suppliers
• Own the budget, schedule, risk and quality
• Be the senior contact for utilities, authorities and executive leadership
• Build and grow the project team as the pipeline expands

You will bring:
