Job summary

Davidson is seeking an experienced Program Director to lead a large-scale transformation across people, process and technology. The role will start on a part-time basis (3 days per week on site) with a transition to full-time from March 2027, under an initial 12-month contract.

You will work with senior executives and external delivery partners to ensure successful delivery and benefits realization. The ideal candidate has extensive program leadership experience, governance and reporting

• Proven ability to take complex programs through implementation, go-live and transition into BAU.
• Strong knowledge of UAT, dress rehearsals, change management and training execution.

About the Role

Our client is a large essential services organisation undertaking a significant operational transformation designed to improve the way services are planned, managed and delivered across its frontline workforce.
This is a highly visible transformation involving business process redesign, data, technology, organisational change and operating model improvements, with multiple major delivery partners involved.

We are seeking an experienced Program Director to lead the delivery of this large-scale business transformation through implementation and transition into BAU.
The position will initially commence on a part-time basis of 3 days per week on site, with the expectation of transitioning to full-time from March 2027 onwards. This is an initial 12-month contract with strong potential for extension. The engagement will also include a non-working shutdown period from 21 December 2026 to 18 January 2027.
Working closely with the Program Sponsor, senior executives, operational stakeholders and multiple external delivery partners, you will provide leadership and direction across a complex, multi-stream program.
Key responsibilities will include:

• Lead the end-to-end delivery of a complex business transformation program.


• Drive delivery across business process, data, technology, change and operating model streams.

• Support the Program Sponsor with executive and Board-level reporting and presentations.

About You

You will be an accomplished Program Director with demonstrated experience successfully delivering large, complex and highly visible business transformation programs.
You will bring:

• Significant experience operating at Program Director level on large-scale transformation programs.


• Proven experience taking complex programs through implementation, go‑live and transition into BAU.


• Strong knowledge of UAT, dress rehearsals, change management and training execution.


• Experience delivering transformation across people, process, data and technology.


• Strong executive, Board and Program Sponsor engagement experience.


• Demonstrated experience working within established governance and accountability frameworks.


• Experience managing multiple delivery partners, system integrators, vendors and advisors.


• A collaborative and motivational leadership style with the ability to build trust across diverse stakeholder groups.


• A hands‑on approach and willingness to actively support delivery teams when required.


• Experience within utilities or similarly complex operational environments such as energy, government or health will be highly regarded.


• Exposure to field services, asset management, maintenance or frontline operational transformation would be advantageous.
