Job summary

Nacap is seeking a Project Cost Controller at our Doncaster headquarters. You will partner with project teams to monitor costs, prepare dashboards, and ensure budgets are met while complying with policies and controls.

The role requires on-site work and the ability to travel to remote locations in Australia and PNG. Reporting to the Commercial Manager, you will forecast costs, manage variations, and drive cost control improvements through robust reporting and KPI analysis.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5+ years as Project Cost Controller, Cost Engineer or Quantity Surveyor in civil construction.
• Australian recognised tertiary qualification in Finance/Business/Accounting/Quantity Surveying/Construction Management/Engineering.
• Prepare, revise and communicate cost control procedures for real time costs.
• Cost control, forecasting and analysis against project KPIs.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills and financial modelling.
• Willingness to work on site in remote locations across Australia and PNG.

Responsibilities

• Partner with Project Managers and Finance to provide cost insights.
• Prepare and maintain project cost reports, dashboards and KPIs for senior management.
• Establish and monitor cost control systems aligned with budgets and codes.
• Monitor commitments including subcontractor agreements, POs and variations.
• Ensure variations, cost events and forecasts are captured, costed and approved.
• Ensure compliance with financial policies and project controls procedures.
• Contribute to continuous improvement of cost control processes and reporting.
