Be part of a nationally significant research project seeking to better understand polysubstance use and new psychoactive substances among young Australians and inform practical, evidence-based harm reduction responses.
Based within Curtin’s National Drug Research Institute (NDRI), the Project Coordinator will work alongside researchers, health services and people with lived experience to help deliver an innovative three-year MRFF-funded study across WA, Victoria and the ACT.
Working closely with Perth based chief investigators, you will coordinate project activities, monitor timelines and quality, and contribute to qualitative and quantitative research. This role would suit a motivated, emerging researcher with experience in project coordination, public health or alcohol and other drug (AOD) research, who is enthusiastic about harm reduction and collaborative, co-designed research with real-world impact.
This is a part time (up to 0.8 FTE, offering flexibility to negotiate your own working schedule), fixed-term position until 28 September 2029. Based in Technology Park, which is adjacent to Curtin University’s Bentley Campus and is expected to commence in January 2027.
The National Drug Research Institute (NDRI) is one of the largest centres of alcohol and other drug research expertise in Australia. The Institute’s purpose is to conduct and disseminate research that supports evidence-informed policy and practice to prevent and minimise alcohol and other drug-related health, social, cultural and economic harms. NDRI research has informed and contributed significantly to policy and evidence-based practice in Australia and internationally.
