Job summary

The Royal Australasian College of Physicians (RACP) is seeking a proactive program and project coordinator to support the Gen Med FATES project in Australia. The role involves operational and administrative tasks within a project team and collaboration with internal and external stakeholders.

Key duties include coordinating accreditation renewal activities, providing governance support, and developing audience-appropriate communications to enable informed decision-making.

Qualifications

  • Strong organisational and time management skills with attention to detail and ability to manage competing priorities.
  • Experience providing professional client, administrative and secretariat support, including drafting correspondence and reports.
  • Strong written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills with ability to build relationships with stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated initiative and problem-solving skills, including identifying issues and improving administrative processes.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively, with flexibility to adapt to changing priorities.
  • Demonstrated tact and discretion in handling sensitive information.

Responsibilities

  • Support the transition of the General and Acute Care Medicine advanced training accreditation renewal process to Training Accreditation Services, identifying risks and improvement opportunities.
  • Provide administrative and secretariat support to committees and working groups.
  • Build collaborative relationships and advise internal and external stakeholders.
  • Develop clear, audience-appropriate communications and facilitate consultation and feedback.
  • Contribute to projects, policy development and continuous improvement using digital tools.

Our 3-2-1 Hybrid Working Model
  • 3 days from anywhere in Australia or Aotearoa New Zealand per week,
  • 2 days from an RACP office location per week,
  • 1 of the two days per week in office spent with your team.
Job Description

About the Role

This position will work within a project team to provide operational and administrative support to deliver the Gen Med FATES project.

The Gen Med FATES project is a Commonwealth-funded two-year initiative focused on strengthening General Medicine training and workforce planning across Australia. Key objectives include mapping the General Medicine training and specialist workforce, renewing accreditation standards, exploring accreditation’s role in workforce reform, and establishing a community of practice for regional, rural and remote setting

Key accountabilities include:

  • Support the transition of the General and Acute Care Medicine advanced training accreditation renewal process to Training Accreditation Services, identifying and communicating risks, gaps and improvement opportunities.
  • Support effective governance and provide administrative and secretariat support to relevant committees, working groups and the GMH RRR SIG.
  • Build collaborative relationships and provide advice and support to specialty societies, RACP committees and other internal and external stakeholders.
  • Develop clear, audience-appropriate communications and facilitate consultation and feedback to support informed decision-making.
  • Contribute to projects, policy development and continuous improvement initiatives, including using digital tools to improve efficiency and effectiveness.
