Job summary

AECOM in Perth, WA is seeking a Project/Cost Controls Specialist to drive cost control, performance reporting and baseline governance across complex projects. You will apply project controls processes to ensure accurate budgets, forecasts and earned value insights that support timely, informed decisions.

  • Proficiency using enterprise financial/project systems and standard project controls processes.
  • Working knowledge of accounting principles as applied to project cost management.
  • Experience with earned value, cost/schedule integration and performance measurement.
  • Ability to interpret drawings/specifications to establish and maintain cost baselines.
  • Familiarity with Australian standards, governance expectations and reporting in major projects.
  • Exposure to scheduling concepts and interfaces between schedule, cost, commitments and funding.

Responsibilities

  • Develop trending and forecasting; analyse progress and quantify cost/schedule impacts.
  • Prepare reports, calculations and technical cost specifications for project reviews and stakeholders.
  • Support invoice review/approval processes for contractors and suppliers.
  • Contribute to scope control and change management, assessing cost impacts of changes.
  • Participate in project cost review meetings; gather data to improve procedures and reporting.

How you’ll make a difference
