Job summary

Transport for NSW is seeking a Project / Contract Manager to deliver regional transport infrastructure projects under fixed-term arrangements until 30 June 2030. You will manage project delivery, contracting and risk, across road, bridge and traffic assets, supporting the Regional Road Network Maintenance Branch.

You will lead multi-disciplinary teams, engage stakeholders and mentor others, with two positions available in NSW: one based in Wagga Wagga area and one in Newcastle/Tamworth region.

Qualifications

• Broad experience in project development and/or implementation of road, bridge and/or traffic infrastructure construction or maintenance projects.
• Four-year engineering degree from an Australian University or equivalent.
• Strong stakeholder engagement and mentoring skills for cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities

• Deliver project delivery and contract management for road, bridge and/or traffic infrastructure assets.
• Develop projects from brief to ready-to-implement stage, proactively identifying and managing risks.
• Lead standalone RMCC contracts to ensure safe project delivery.
• Engage with diverse stakeholders and mentor multi-disciplinary teams.

In this role, you'll:

Work within our Project Services Team within the Regional Road Network Maintenance Branch of the Road Maintenance & Resilience division at Transport for NSW, with a focus on project delivery and project and contract management for key Asset related projects such as road, bridge and/or traffic infrastructure support the Renewable Energy Zone (REZ) Program

This role will see you develop and manage the implementation of transport infrastructure or maintenance projects to achieve Transport for NSW and Government road safety, asset management and network efficiency objectives.

You will develop projects that includes taking a project from a project brief through to having it ready to implement. This will see you working proactively to identify and manage risks that could impact delivery and sorting out community engagements where required.

In addition to this, you will be running contracts that are either stand alone or RMCC – Road Maintenance Council Contracts to make sure projects are safely performed.

There are 2 Fixed term positions up to 30/06/2030 with 1 x position to be based in Wagga Wagga or surrounding area (negotiable) to support the Southwest REZ and 1 x position to be based in Newcastle / Tamworth or surrounding area (negotiable) to support the Central West Orana REZ and/or New England REZ project.

About you

You will have broad experience in either project development and/or implementation of road, bridge and/or traffic infrastructure construction or maintenance projects.

Your four-year engineering degree from an Australian University or equivalent overseas qualifications or a related discipline and demonstratable relevant experience will enable you to understand and deliver multiple priorities for Transport for NSW and government agreed on standards and timeframes.

You’re recognised for your strengths in stakeholder engagement and mentoring. This will enable you to mentor a team and successfully engage across various stakeholder groups to project manage multi-disciplinary teams.
