Job summary

Chandler Macleod Group is seeking an experienced Project Assurance Officer to support a Federal Government client in Canberra. You will contribute to governance and assurance activities across a diverse project portfolio, ensuring alignment with frameworks and organisational objectives.

In this role, you will review documentation, assist with risk management, and provide evidence-based advice to project teams and senior stakeholders to strengthen delivery outcomes.

Qualifications

• Experience in project governance, assurance, risk management, reporting and evaluation.
• Strong understanding of project lifecycle management, planning, governance and assurance practices.
• Excellent written and verbal communication with ability to prepare briefs, reports and governance papers.

Responsibilities

• Conduct project assurance activities in line with frameworks, processes, and standards.
• Review project documentation, governance arrangements, schedules, budgets, risks, issues and reporting artifacts.
• Analyse performance information to identify trends, risks, gaps and opportunities for improvement.
• Prepare reports, briefs, governance papers, dashboards and recommendations for senior stakeholders.
• Support executive oversight with clear, evidence-based advice.
• Build relationships with project managers and stakeholders to strengthen practices.
• Contribute to improvement of governance, assurance frameworks and reporting processes.
• Coordinate governance forums including agenda preparation, action tracking and decision registers.
• Escalate emerging risks, issues and non-compliance as required.
• Promote consistent project management practices across project teams.
