Job summary

Monadelphous is seeking an experienced Project Accountant/Cost Controller to support major construction projects in Australia, working closely with the project team through planning and delivery. You will provide financial oversight, cost control, forecasting and reporting, and support for change management.

The role offers exposure to tier-1 client work and the potential for redeployment to similar projects across the business.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance preferred.
CPA or CMA certification preferred.
3+ years of experience in project accounting/cost control in construction.
Strong knowledge of accounting and cost control principles.
Experience with project accounting software and ERP systems.
Excellent analytical, problem-solving and communication skills.

Responsibilities

Manage project accounting activities, including cost tracking, invoicing, progress claims and budget review.
Develop and maintain control budgets and estimates aligned with project scope and WBS.
Prepare accurate cost reports, including forecasting, variance analysis and cost performance.
Perform Earned Value Management (EVM), ETC and EAC.
Review and support cost change management including variations and claims.
Coordinate with Project Managers and Commercial Managers for accurate reporting.
Prepare month-end accounting activities such as accruals, provisions, allocations and cost transfers.
Provide financial leadership and guidance to the project team.
Prepare monthly management reports and present outcomes to senior stakeholders.
