Job summary

A W Edwards in Sydney is seeking a Cost Controller to manage project financial functions and drive cost control on on-site projects in Australia. The role focuses on mitigating risks, forecasting costs, and delivering pragmatic financial guidance to project teams.

Based in Sydney with on-site responsibilities in St Leonards, the successful candidate will bring Tier 1/2 experience, advanced Excel skills, and a strong track record in construction cost management.

Qualifications

• Experience in a Tier 1 or Tier 2 construction organisation.
• 3–5 years cost-control experience in a construction environment.
• Proficiency in Project Finance Forecasting, Risk Management, Accounting, Cost Management and Continuous Improvement.
• Advanced MS Excel skills and experience with accounting software.

Responsibilities

• Mitigating operational risks and optimising opportunities.
• Responsibility for the performance of project financial functions.
• Providing cost‑control expertise through accurate forecasting, risk control and financial operations.
• Delivering accurate, pragmatic advice to the project team while maintaining an acceptable level of risk.
