This spirit of innovation has continued throughout our 30-year history and remains a feature of how we work today. We aspire to be a place where our values of integrity, honesty, courage, compassion, respect and imagination are alive and tangible in our everyday interactions, in our planning and execution and in the way others see us.

The College is a wholly-owned entity of the University of Technology Sydney (UTS) and our Sydney campus is based at UTS in the heart of the city. We enjoy and value our close strategic and operational relationships with the University across all areas of our work.

UTS College currently has the opportunity for an experienced and passionate Program Manager, English to join the Education Team, leading UTS College’s English program that prepares international students for entry to UTS Foundation Studies, UTS College diploma programs, and UTS undergraduate and postgraduate study.

We are seeking a capable, enthusiastic leader who sets clear expectations, builds a high-performing and engaged teaching team, and leads people constructively through change. The role works across a complex range of stakeholders and systems, and requires clear, confident communication and close attention to detail.

About the role
Teaching and learning excellence
  • Lead the delivery and continuous improvement of the English program across Sydney and TNE locations, ensuring high-quality teaching, exceptional student outcomes and a student-centred learning experience.

  • Work collaboratively with TNE partners and internal stakeholders to support compliance with academic standards, curriculum requirements and quality expectations.
  • Support the development of partner teaching capability and contribute to the growth and success of the College's transnational English language programs.
People leadership
  • Lead, develop and inspire a high-performing teaching team, fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, professional growth and student success.
  • Build workforce capability through effective recruitment, performance management, coaching and leadership through change.
  • Promote a safe, inclusive and respectful workplace that supports staff wellbeing and engagement
  • Contribute to the commercial sustainability and growth of the English program through effective resource planning, operational management and support for student recruitment initiatives.
Compliance, policy and reporting
  • Ensure the English program operates in accordance with regulatory requirements, academic standards and College policies.
  • Contribute to academic governance, quality assurance and reporting processes that support continuous improvement and organisational success.
What you’ll bring
  • Postgraduate qualifications in TESOL, Applied Linguistics or a related discipline, together with recognised ELICOS teaching qualifications (such as CELTA, DELTA or equivalent).
  • Significant experience teaching and leading within an ELICOS and/or English for Academic Purposes (EAP) environment, with a demonstrated track record of achieving strong student outcomes.
  • Proven success leading, developing and motivating high-performing teaching teams in a dynamic educational setting.
  • Deep expertise in contemporary English language pedagogy, curriculum design and academic quality assurance.
  • Strong understanding of the regulatory and quality frameworks governing international education, including ESOS, the National Code and NEAS Standards.
  • Exceptional communication and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to build productive relationships across diverse teams, cultures and partner organisations.
  • A collaborative and student-centred approach, with a genuine commitment to continuous improvement, innovation and educational excellence.
  • The ability to navigate change, manage competing priorities and deliver results in a complex and evolving environment.
  • A current NSW Working With Children Check (WWCC).
  • Experience in teacher training, coaching or professional development.
  • Experience supporting quality assurance and academic oversight within transnational education (TNE) partnerships.
