Victorian Comprehensive Cancer Centre Alliance seeks an experienced Program Manager, Data and Technology to drive data‑driven cancer research and innovation across Victoria. You will lead the delivery and governance of the Data Connect+ program, collaborating with researchers, clinicians, government, industry, data custodians and consumers to maximise impact.

About the Opportunity

The VCCC Alliance is seeking an experienced and collaborative Program Manager, Data and Technology to play a key role in advancing data-driven cancer research and innovation across Victoria.

Working at the intersection of research, healthcare, technology, and partnerships, you will lead the delivery and governance of the Data Connect+ program, a strategic initiative that leverages linked health data to improve cancer prevention, early detection, survivorship, and service delivery. You will work closely with leading researchers, clinicians, government stakeholders, industry partners, data custodians, and consumers to maximise the impact and value of cancer data.

This role offers a unique opportunity to drive research translation, build strategic partnerships, support sustainable program growth, and contribute to improving outcomes for people affected by cancer. You will help shape the use of data and technology to inform policy, enhance healthcare delivery, and accelerate innovation across the Victorian cancer sector.

Responsibilities Include

• Lead the coordination and delivery of complex research and data programs, ensuring effective planning, governance, risk management, reporting, and stakeholder engagement.
• Monitor program performance, budgets, contracts, and operational activities to support the achievement of strategic objectives and funding requirements.
• Support governance processes and provide high‑quality advice, reporting, and insights to inform decision‑making.
• Develop and maintain strong partnerships across government, healthcare, research, industry, and consumer sectors to support collaborative initiatives and shared objectives.
• Facilitate cross‑sector collaboration, alignment, and coordination to strengthen data, research, and innovation outcomes across the cancer sector.
• Ensure consumer and lived‑experience perspectives are embedded in program planning, implementation, evaluation, and sustainability activities.
• Contribute to long‑term program sustainability through partnership development, governance planning, funding opportunities, and strategic growth initiatives.
• Identify and progress opportunities that enhance the impact, reach, and value of data and research investments.
• Support the translation of research and data‑driven insights into practical outcomes that inform clinical practice, health system improvement, policy development, and innovation.
• Collaborate across teams to deliver engagement, education, and capacity‑building activities that promote the value and application of program outcomes.
• Provide strategic analysis and recommendations to support organisational leadership and sector‑wide impact.

About You

You will have significant experience in complex program management with proven relationship‑building experience. You will:

• Bring proven experience leading complex, multi‑stakeholder programs within research, healthcare, data, technology, or related sectors.
• Have a demonstrated ability to translate research and innovation into practical outcomes and measurable impact.
• Build and maintain strong partnerships that enable collaboration, growth, and shared success.
• Apply sound program management practices to deliver strategic initiatives and organisational objectives.
• Navigate complexity with confidence, balancing competing priorities and stakeholder needs.
• Provide clear, evidence‑based insights to support informed decision‑making.
• Communicate with influence across a broad range of audiences and stakeholder groups.
• High‑level proficiency with Microsoft Office, Teams, SharePoint and project/task management systems such as Asana or similar.
