Job summary

Aurec Group is seeking three highly capable Program Managers to lead strategic, large-scale digital transformation programs for a federal government client. You will drive data, technology and cyber initiatives, translating roadmaps into executable plans and delivering high-impact enterprise solutions across national capabilities.

These roles involve managing multi-million dollar programs, sponsoring governance and risk management, and leading geographically dispersed teams.

Qualifications

  • 10+ years of senior leadership experience managing complex digital, data, or technology transformation programs.
  • Experience leading programs within Australian Government agencies, public sector entities, or research institutions.
  • Proven track record mobilising and managing programs with annual budgets exceeding $10m.

Responsibilities

  • Translate enterprise roadmaps and program blueprints into executable delivery plans aligned with investment decisions.
  • Oversee integrated roadmaps, milestones and interdependencies across multiple workstreams to ensure smooth transition into BAU operations.
  • Establish and maintain governance frameworks, stage gates, risk management, escalation pathways, and change control processes.
  • Direct program budgets, managing resource planning, procurement activities, vendor relationships, and commercial outcomes.
  • Lead and develop multidisciplinary, geographically dispersed teams, fostering a high-performance culture and delivery maturity.
  • Influence senior executive stakeholders, sponsors, and governance bodies through data-driven reporting and strategic advice.

Job description

We are seeking 3 highly capable and experienced Program Managers to support our federal government client in leading strategic, large-scale digital transformation programs driving data, technology, and cyber initiatives for the agency.

A chance to be involved in Programs that are complex, with multi-million dollar investments that will deliver high-impact enterprise solutions and directly shape national capabilities.

What's on Offer
  • Initial 12-month contract + 2x 12-month extension options.

  • Flexible national locations across QLD, WA, ACT, VIC, NSW, or SA.

  • Due to the nature of this environment, must hold a current Baseline security clearance
Role & Responsibilities
  • Translate enterprise roadmaps and program blueprints into executable delivery plans, aligning program outcomes and investment decisions with overarching organisational goals.

  • Oversee integrated roadmaps, scope, major milestones, and complex interdependencies across multiple workstreams and projects to ensure seamless transition into business-as-usual operations.

  • Establish and maintain robust governance frameworks, stage gates, risk management, escalation pathways, and change control processes following defined delivery frameworks.

  • Direct program budgets, managing resource planning, procurement activities, vendor relationships, and commercial outcomes.

  • Lead and develop multidisciplinary, geographically dispersed teams, fostering a high-performance culture, continuous improvement, and delivery maturity.

  • Influence senior executive stakeholders, sponsors, and governance bodies through clear, data-driven reporting, strategic advice, and comprehensive change management.

Skills & Experience
  • Technical Toolkit: Strong expertise in enterprise digital transformation, program management frameworks, portfolio governance, cyber, enterprise applications, infrastructure, and delivery reporting metrics.

  • Experience: 10+ years of senior leadership experience managing complex digital, data, or technology transformation programs within Australian Government agencies, public sector entities, or research institutions.

  • Financial Oversight: Proven track record mobilising and managing large-scale programs with annual budgets exceeding $10m.

  • Core Capabilities: Exceptional stakeholder management skills with demonstrated success driving organisational change and leading geographically dispersed teams.
