Job summary

South Australian Housing Trust in Adelaide is seeking a Program Director, Rent to Own Development to lead the delivery of the government’s 2,000-home Rent to Own program and related affordable housing initiatives.

Reporting to the Director of Housing Delivery, you will provide strategic leadership across governance, procurement, stakeholder engagement and major project delivery, directing multidisciplinary teams and shaping policy and investment decisions to improve access to home ownership.

An exceptional opportunity exists to join the South Australian Housing Trust as Program Director, Rent to Own Development, leading the delivery of the South Australian Government's landmark 2,000-home Rent to Own program and associated affordable housing initiatives.

Reporting to the Director, Housing Delivery, you will provide strategic leadership across program delivery, governance, procurement, stakeholder engagement and commercial decision-making. This high-profile executive role offers the opportunity to shape innovative housing solutions, influence policy and investment decisions, and deliver meaningful outcomes for South Australians seeking affordable pathways to home ownership.

Working closely with government, industry and community stakeholders, you will lead complex development programs, oversee multidisciplinary teams and build strong partnerships to accelerate housing supply outcomes across metropolitan and regional South Australia. You will be responsible for ensuring strong governance, financial performance, risk management and delivery outcomes while navigating complex and evolving policy and market environments.

We are seeking a commercially astute and strategically focused leader with extensive experience in property development, housing delivery, urban renewal, construction or major project environments. You will bring exceptional stakeholder engagement skills, strong commercial acumen and a proven ability to deliver complex programs, influence outcomes and drive innovation in settings where established precedents may be limited.
