Qualifications

• Three or more years' experience in underwriting or broking within Financial Lines.
• Strong technical underwriting expertise with sound commercial judgement.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate financial, operational and governance risk factors affecting insured entities.
• Determine coverage terms, limits and pricing for Professional Indemnity.
• Prepare quotations, policy documents, renewals and endorsements within service standards.
• Identify emerging risk trends and recommend underwriting actions.
• Pursue new business opportunities within target markets.
• Conduct broker meetings, presentations and training to promote products.
• Provide guidance to brokers on coverage and risk management.
• Maintain accurate underwriting records and reports.

Launched in 2015, Pacific Indemnity is a boutique underwriting agency specialising in financial lines insurance products, including professional indemnity, broadform public & products liability, directors & officers’ liability and management liability.

About the Role

Pacific Indemnity Underwriting Solutions Pty Limited is seeking an experienced and commercially focused Professional Indemnity Underwriter to join our growing underwriting team. This role is responsible for underwriting a portfolio of Professional Lines risks, maintaining strong broker relationships, and contributing to the profitable growth of the business.

The successful candidate will possess strong technical underwriting expertise, sound commercial judgement, and the ability to deliver exceptional service to brokers and clients while adhering to underwriting guidelines and profitability targets.

The fundamental responsibility of the role is to assess, analyse and underwrite Professional Indemnity insurance submissions in accordance with delegated underwriting authority and company guidelines.

In addition, the key responsibilities of the role include but are not limited to:

• Evaluate financial, operational, governance and industry-specific risk factors affecting insured entities.
• Determine appropriate coverage terms, conditions, endorsements, limits and pricing.
• Prepare and issue quotations, policy documentation, renewals and endorsements within agreed service standards.
• Identify emerging risk trends and recommend underwriting actions where required.
• Actively identify and pursue new business opportunities within target market segments.
• Conduct broker meetings, presentations and training sessions to promote products and underwriting appetite.
• Provide technical guidance and support to brokers regarding coverage and risk management solutions.
• Maintain accurate underwriting records and management reporting.

We are looking for someone with ideally three or more years’ experience in underwriting or broking within Financial Lines and has a sound understanding of these insurance products and coverage structures.
