Job summary

Qube Research & Technologies (QRT) seeks an experienced electronic trading professional to join our Production Trading Services (PTS) team in Sydney. This role sits at the crossroads of Trading, Technology, Compliance and Operations, and acts as a control tower for our live trading environment.

You’ll oversee production issues, assess trading impact, and drive governance improvements to strengthen resilience and scalability. Collaboration across traders and technologists is essential.

Qualifications

• 5+ years' experience working in or supporting a live electronic trading environment.
• Strong electronic equities trading knowledge and understanding of the order lifecycle.
• Experience with trading limits, controls and production incidents.
• Good technical understanding of electronic trading environments, including FIX and low-latency trading systems.
• Strong judgement, problem-solving and prioritisation skills in time-sensitive environments. A proactive, accountable approach and the confidence to work across traders, technologists and other stakeholders.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to take ownership of issues through to resolution.

Responsibilities

• Monitor order and trade flows, trading limits and controls across the live trading environment.
• Assess the trading impact of production issues and help determine priorities and appropriate escalation.
• Coordinate across Trading, Technology, Compliance, brokers and exchanges to manage trading-related issues.
• Support trading limit management, session access and trading control oversight.
• Identify control gaps and recurring issues and drive improvements to processes and governance.
• Help strengthen the resilience and scalability of QRT's production trading environment.
• Work with PTS colleagues globally as part of our developing follow-the-sun coverage model.

Your future role within QRT

We're looking for an experienced electronic trading professional to join our Production Trading Services (PTS) team in Sydney.

Sitting at the intersection of Trading, Technology, Compliance and Operations, PTS acts as a control tower for our live trading environment – maintaining oversight of trading activity, understanding the potential trading impact when issues arise, and helping ensure the right actions are prioritised and driven through to resolution.

This is not a traditional application support role. You'll use your understanding of electronic trading, markets and technology to provide oversight of the production environment, represent trading impact during incidents and help strengthen the controls and processes supporting our trading activity.
