Job summary

MSD Australia & New Zealand is seeking a Production Technologist in Bendigo, VIC to support the manufacture of media, antigen and final vaccine material in line with GMP requirements. This hands-on role reports to the Line Lead within the Manufacturing Division.

You will perform manufacturing activities, manage equipment, assist with planning and documentation, and participate in CAPA and continuous improvement activities to minimize downtime and ensure schedule adherence.

Qualifications

• Experience in a regulated or manufacturing environment preferred.
• Bachelor of Science or equivalent qualification advantageous.
• Understanding of GMP and quality systems.
• Basic computer skills, including Word, Outlook and Excel.
• Strong verbal and written communication, organisation and teamwork skills.
• Understanding of aseptic processes and GMP behaviours.
• Basic maths skills and exposure to data analysis.

Responsibilities

• Perform manufacturing activities for intermediates and final vaccine material.
• Prepare, stage, use and maintain mechanical and laboratory equipment.
• Ensure materials and equipment are available and within date prior to manufacture.
• Support production planning, batch documentation and schedule adherence.
• Assist with maintenance and validation activities to minimise downtime.
• Conduct batch record review and verification, including timely BPR corrections.
• Support cycle counts, inventory accuracy and SAP master data review.

As a Production Technologist, you will perform direct and indirect activities supporting the manufacture of media, antigen and final vaccine material in line with the production schedule and local regulatory and GMP requirements. This is a hands-on role within the Manufacturing Division, reporting to the Line Lead.

What You Will Do

Operations and Production

• Perform manufacturing activities for intermediates and final vaccine material
• Prepare, stage, use and maintain mechanical and laboratory equipment
• Ensure materials and equipment are available and within date prior to manufacture
• Support production planning, batch documentation and schedule adherence
• Assist with maintenance and validation activities to minimise downtime
• Conduct batch record review and verification, including timely BPR corrections
• Support cycle counts, inventory accuracy and SAP master data review

Safety and Compliance

• Follow SOPs and maintain Good Documentation Practices
• Contribute to hazard and near miss identification, incident investigations and CAPA
• Participate in Safe by Choice discussions and model inclusive behaviours
• Support compliance audits, event investigations, change management and environmental monitoring
• Maintain good housekeeping and ensure equipment is fit for purpose and safe to use
• Support adherence to relevant quality standards and manufacturing requirements

Continuous Improvement and Ways of Working

• Apply MPS tools and methodologies to support investigations and CAPA implementation
• Contribute to technical process advancement and growth strategies in Production
• Participate in Site Tier communication processes and cross-functional tier meetings
• Support cost mitigation and innovation initiatives that improve manufacturing performance
• Participate in competency-based training, priority setting and development planning

People and Coordination

• Escalate issues that may impact the production schedule
• Coordinate activities during periods of leave or offsite work where required
• Raise purchase requisitions and manage limit orders as needed
• Perform SAP transactions within required timeframes

What You Must Have
