Job summary

MSD Malaysia in Bendigo, VIC, is seeking a Production Technologist to support vaccine material manufacture. This hands-on role focuses on media, antigen and final product processes within a GMP framework, reporting to the Line Lead.

You will contribute to production planning, batch documentation, CAPA, and continuous improvement while ensuring safety and quality. Prior GMP exposure and a science degree are preferred.

Qualifications

• Experience in a regulated or manufacturing environment preferred.
• Bachelor of Science or equivalent qualification advantageous.
• Understanding of GMP and quality systems.
• Basic computer skills, including Word, Outlook and Excel.
• Strong verbal and written communication, organisation and teamwork skills.
• Understanding of aseptic processes and GMP behaviours.
• Basic maths skills and exposure to data analysis.

Responsibilities

• Perform manufacturing activities for intermediates and final vaccine material.
• Prepare, stage, use and maintain mechanical and laboratory equipment.
• Ensure materials and equipment are available and within date prior to manufacture.
• Support production planning, batch documentation and schedule adherence.
• Assist with maintenance and validation activities to minimise downtime.
• Conduct batch record review and verification, including timely BPR corrections.
• Support cycle counts, inventory accuracy and SAP master data review.
• Follow SOPs and maintain Good Documentation Practices.
• Contribute to hazard and near miss identification, incident investigations and CAPA.
• Participate in Safe by Choice discussions and model inclusive behaviours.
• Support compliance audits, event investigations, change management and environmental monitoring.
• Maintain good housekeeping and ensure equipment is fit for purpose and safe to use.
• Support adherence to relevant quality standards and manufacturing requirements.
• Apply MPS tools and methodologies to support investigations and CAPA implementation.
• Contribute to technical process advancement and growth strategies in Production.
• Participate in Site Tier communication processes and cross-functional tier meetings.
• Support cost mitigation and innovation initiatives that improve manufacturing performance.
• Participate in competency‑based training, priority setting and development planning.
• Escalate issues that may impact the production schedule.
• Coordinate activities during periods of leave or offsite work where required.
• Raise purchase requisitions and manage limit orders as needed.
• Perform SAP transactions within required timeframes.
