Job summary

BFX Furniture in Yandina, Queensland, is seeking an experienced Team Leader to support our Upholstery Factory Manager and drive performance across the upholstery operation. This hands-on role covers the upholstery, sewing and framing areas, with a Monday–Friday schedule and typical 6:00am–2:06pm hours.

You will lead from the shop floor, coach teams, monitor productivity and safety, and ensure on-time, quality output.

Qualifications

• Previous leadership or supervisory experience within a manufacturing environment.
• Strong people leadership and communication skills.
• A hands-on approach with the ability to lead from the factory floor.
• Excellent organisation and problem-solving abilities.
• Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

• Coordinating daily production activities across the Upholstery facility
• Assisting with production planning and scheduling
• Leading, coaching and supporting team members
• Monitoring productivity, quality and workplace safety standards
• Managing inventory and material availability
• Coordinating maintenance activities and equipment upkeep
• Supporting continuous improvement and process efficiencies
• Acting as a backup to the Factory Manager when required

Lead From the Front in a Growing Australian Manufacturer

BFX Furniture is one of Australia's leading manufacturers and suppliers of educational, government and commercial furniture. As our business continues to grow, we are seeking an experienced Team Leader to support our Upholstery Factory Manager and help drive performance, quality and productivity across our Upholstery operation in Yandina.

This is a hands-on leadership role suited to someone who enjoys being on the factory floor, leading by example and developing high-performing teams while ensuring production targets, quality standards and safety requirements are achieved.

About the Role

Reporting to the Upholstery Factory Manager, you will oversee day-to-day operations across the Upholstery, Sewing/Cutting and Framing/Glue Bay areas, ensuring efficient workflow and high-quality output. This is a permanent full-time position working Monday to Friday. This role is generally worked between 6:00am and 2:06pm, Monday to Friday. As a salaried position, flexibility may be required and reasonable additional hours may be worked from time to time based on operational needs.
