Job summary

BHP is seeking Production Prestrip Supervisors for Peak Downs Mine in Queensland to lead a team of operators, drive safety and production targets, and foster a high-performing workplace on a 7/7 roster.

Reporting to the Production Superintendent, you will coach staff, optimise prestrip activities, manage handovers and support continuous improvement while promoting inclusion and team engagement.

Qualifications

• Experience leading teams within an operational mining environment.
• Experience in open-cut mining, production or prestrip operations.
• Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
• Commitment to safety, inclusion and continuous improvement.
• Current Queensland Open Driver's Licence.
• S123 and G2 qualifications, or the ability to obtain them.

About The Role

We have a couple of opportunities for Production Prestrip Supervisors to join the team at Peak Downs Mine, one of BHP Mitsubishi Alliance's (BMA) leading operations in the Bowen Basin.

Reporting to the Production Superintendent, you will lead and support a team of operators, creating a safe, inclusive and high-performing work environment while delivering production outcomes. Working a 7/7 roster, you’ll have the opportunity to develop your leadership capability, influence site culture and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.

As a leader, you’ll play a key role in fostering team engagement, supporting workforce development and ensuring every individual feels empowered to contribute and perform at their best.

To Be Successful, You Will Have

• Experience leading, coaching or mentoring teams within an operational environment.
• Experience in open cut mining, production or prestrip operations.
• Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
• A commitment to safety, inclusion and continuous improvement.
• The ability to make sound decisions and solve problems in a dynamic environment.
• A current Queensland Open Driver's Licence.
• S123 and G2 qualifications, or the ability to obtain them.
