Job summary

Alcoa of Australia Ltd is seeking a Production Supervisor at the Wagerup Refinery. This 12-hour day/night shift role reports to the Production Superintendent and focuses on delivering safe, reliable production and strong people engagement.

You will coach and mentor a dedicated crew, uphold high standards of process practice, drive continuous improvement and lead change initiatives using Alcoa tools and systems.

About the Role

As part of the Wagerup Refinery, Production Supervisors play a key role in driving successful work execution and fostering strong people engagement. The role operates on a 12-hour day/night shift roster, reporting to the Production Superintendent. In this leadership role, you will be responsible for:

• Coaching and mentoring others to reach their full potential on a dedicated crew
• Developing and upholding very high standards of process and production practices
• Guiding the team to achieve its challenging goals in all areas of the business
• Implementing and sustaining business system improvements
• Assisting team members to implement suggestion scheme ideas
• Auditing of standardised work practices
• You will act as a help chain to the team by guiding the execution of work and utilising your problem-solving skills to assist with production and interpersonal issues, achieved utilising Alcoa’s tools and systems provided
• Requirement to have Schedule 26 - Statutory Supervisor accreditation

What you can bring to the role

• A strong processing background
• It is advantageous if you have experience working in an alumina/refining processing plant or mining/industrial environment
• A strong and dedicated commitment to safety, health and the environment
• Validated use of initiative and self-motivation to excel in working with minimal supervision
• Highly developed team leadership, communication skills and experience in implementing and leading change initiatives
• The commitment to meet challenges and work with a diverse group to develop and implement strategies across our workgroups
