Job summary

Laurent Bakery Group is seeking Production Operators / Process Workers for our Braeside manufacturing facility, across day, afternoon and night shifts. You will join a growing food production team and help keep lines running safely and efficiently.

Responsibilities include preparing and mixing ingredients, packing, operating and monitoring production machinery, and maintaining food safety and hygiene standards. A forklift licence is essential for Night Shift.

Qualifications

• Previous experience as a production operator, process worker, machine operator, mixer or packer in food manufacturing or a fast‑paced FMCG environment.
• Previous mixing experience is essential for mixer positions.
• Forklift licence essential for Night Shift role.
• Reliability, punctuality and availability to work your nominated shift.
• Ability to follow work instructions and communicate clearly with your team.

• Pack bakery products and support packing line operations, including working in cold environments.

• Work with the team to meet production targets and assist with other tasks as needed.

Production Operators / Process Workers – Day, Afternoon & Night Shifts

Available Shifts

Day Shift Mixer: 6am–2pm, Monday to Friday

Day Shift Packing: 9:30am–5:30pm, Monday to Friday

Afternoon Shift Mixer: 2pm–10pm, Monday to Friday

Afternoon Shift Packing: 12:30pm–8:30pm, Monday to Friday

Night Shift: 6pm–6am, rotating roster

Please state your preferred role and shift in your application. Previous mixing experience is essential for mixer positions.

The Roles – Mixing, Packing and Production

Reporting to the Shift Production Manager, you’ll help keep our production lines running safely and efficiently while maintaining product quality and food safety standards.

Depending on your position, your responsibilities will include:

Mixing

Preparing and mixing ingredients accurately to meet recipes and production requirements.

Packing

Packing bakery products, checking quality and supporting packing line operations, including working in cold environments.

Machine operation

Operating and monitoring production machinery and packing equipment, identifying issues and reporting faults to the production or maintenance team.

Cleaning production equipment and work areas throughout the shift and between production runs.

Moving ingredients and products as required, including forklift operation where appropriately licensed and authorised.

Working with your team to meet production targets and assisting with other tasks when needed.

Following food safety and hygiene procedures, including allergen management, cross‑contamination prevention, foreign object control and Critical Control Point (CCP) requirements.

What You Bring

Previous experience as a production operator, process worker, machine operator, mixer or packer in food manufacturing or a fast‑paced FMCG environment is preferred.

Previous mixing experience is essential for mixer positions.

Forklift licence essential for Night Shift role

Reliability, punctuality and availability to work your nominated shift.

The ability to follow work instructions and communicate clearly with your team.

A practical approach to solving problems and knowing when to ask for support.

Attention to detail and a commitment to workplace safety, food safety and product quality.

A willingness to learn different processes and help colleagues meet production requirements.

The ability to safely perform manual handling tasks, including lifting ingredients or products weighing up to 20–25kg.
