Job summary

Cann Group Limited is recruiting a Production Operator for our Cultivation and Manufacturing teams in Mildura, Victoria. You will support safe, efficient, GMP-compliant production of medicinal cannabis products within a regulated facility.

Join a collaborative team responsible for cultivation, processing and manufacturing activities, with shift work possible. Applicants should have STEM qualifications and a valid Victorian driver’s licence.

Qualifications

  • Qualification in Science, Agricultural Science, Production Horticulture, Manufacturing or another relevant STEM discipline (preferred).
  • Current Victorian Driver Licence.
  • Ability to successfully complete pre-employment medical, security screening and National Police Check.

Responsibilities

  • Cultivation: Propagation, transplanting, fertigation, mother stock maintenance, harvesting and plant health management.
  • Manufacturing/Production: Operate equipment, process materials per GMP, clean rooms and facilities, coordinate material transfers.
  • General Responsibilities: Follow SOPs/GMP, complete production records, report faults, escalate issues, maintain QMS documentation, training participation, safe working practices.

About the role,

We are seeking motivated and reliable Production Operators to join our Mildura team.These roles operate across our Cultivation and Manufacturing (Production) departments and are responsible for supporting the safe, efficient and compliant production of medicinal cannabis products within a highly regulated GMP environment.Working as part of a collaborative team, you will contribute to the cultivation, processing and manufacture of medicinal cannabis while ensuring the highest standards of quality, safety and compliance are maintained.Shift work may be required depending on operational requirements.

Key Responsibilities,

Depending on your area of responsibility, duties may include:

Cultivation

  • Participate in all stages of the cultivation lifecycle including propagation, transplanting, fertigation, mother stock maintenance, harvesting and plant health management.
  • Monitor crop health and assist with integrated pest and disease management (IPDM).
  • Operate cultivation equipment, fertigation and climate control systems.
  • Perform cultivation area cleaning and facility upkeep.
  • Assist with research and development activities.
  • Participate in scheduled drug movement activities.
  • Assist with procurement, inventory management and restocking of production supplies.

Manufacturing / Production

  • Operate specialised production equipment and manufacturing systems.
  • Process medicinal cannabis materials in accordance with GMP requirements.
  • Clean equipment, production rooms and facilities.
  • Handle raw materials and controlled cannabis products safely and accurately.
  • Assist with equipment commissioning, troubleshooting and preventative maintenance.
  • Coordinate material transfers between cultivation and production teams.

General Responsibilities

  • Follow Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), Good Documentation Practices (GDP) and Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP).
  • Complete production records, batch documentation and labelling accurately.
  • Operate machinery safely and report equipment faults.
  • Escalate quality, production, safety and security issues promptly.
  • Participate in deviation investigations and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Maintain accurate inventory and documentation within Cann's Quality Management System (QMS).
  • Attend team meetings and complete required training.
  • Work safely while maintaining a clean, organised workplace.

Qualifications

  • Qualification in Science, Agricultural Science, Production Horticulture, Manufacturing or another relevant STEM discipline (preferred).
  • Current Victorian Driver Licence.
  • Ability to successfully complete pre-employment medical, security screening and National Police Check.

Experience

  • Experience in manufacturing, production, horticulture, agriculture or a regulated production environment is highly regarded.
  • Experience operating industrial machinery or automated equipment is advantageous.
  • Experience within GMP, food manufacturing or clean room environments is desirable.

Working Conditions,

  • Physical role involving lifting, pushing and pulling up to 15kg.
  • Frequent standing, walking and repetitive hand movements.
  • Work within cultivation and manufacturing environments with temperatures ranging approximately 20°C–32°C.
  • Shift work, weekends and public holidays may be required.
  • Significant exposure to cannabis plant material. This role may not be suitable for individuals with allergies to cannabis, pollen, asthma or hay fever.
