Job summary

Simplot Kelso in New South Wales, Australia, is hiring casual Production Operators to join the food manufacturing team. You will work across day, afternoon and night shifts on a Mon-Sat roster, with overtime as required, performing material preparation, packaging, line cleaning and documentation. Base hourly rate $43.26 (incl.

25% casual loading) plus 15% afternoon and 30% night shift allowances. Saturday overtime is paid at double time; a current LF forklift licence is advantageous and training

Qualifications

• 100% commitment to safety, health and wellbeing.
• Experience in manufacturing, process or mechanical roles preferred.
• Current LF forklift licence and demonstrated operating experience.
• Ability to work 8-hour shifts across Mon-Fri with Saturday OT.
• Strong written and verbal communication, time management and production scheduling.
• Willingness to undertake pre-employment medical (drug & alcohol screening).

Responsibilities

• Inspection and preparation of incoming raw materials.
• Manual handling of ingredients used in production.
• Safe operation of fixed plant processing and high-speed packaging equipment.
• Cleaning and sanitation of production lines.
• Accurately complete daily shift logs and paperwork.
• Participate in Continuous Improvement activities.
• Contribute to site safety and GMP activities.
• Operate LF forklift if licensed.

About Our Role

• Casual production based opportunities with the home of Australia's favourite foods - Simplot Kelso
• Shift based positions - work across day / afternoon / night shifts on a Mon‑Sat roster (with occasional Sun OT as required)
• Base hourly rate $43.26 (incl. 25% casual loading) + 15% afternoon shift allowance + 30% night shift allowance
• Sat & Sunday overtime paid at double time rates

Here at Simplot Kelso, we have opportunities for casual Production Operators to join the production team in support our food manufacturing operations. Simplot Kelso is our seafood and snacking processing plant, producing approx. 50 tonnes of product daily (75 SKUs) for the retail and foodservice markets including Birds Eye, I&J and Captain's Catch branded products. The site employs approx. 120 local employees, with approximately 95% of manufactured goods consisting of either Aquaculture Stewardship Council (ASC) or Marine Stewardship Council (MSC) seafood.

What You Will Do

• Inspection / preparation of incoming raw material
• Manual handling of ingredients used in the production process
• Safe operations of fixed plant processing & high speed packaging equipment
• Cleaning and sanitation of production lines
• Accurately complete daily shift logs / associated paperwork
• Participate in Continuous Improvement (CI) activities
• Contribute to site safety & Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) activities
• LF forklift operations - for those candidates who currently hold a valid forklift licence with demonstrated experience

About You

• Possess a 100% commitment to safety, health & wellbeing in the workplace
• Demonstrated experience within a manufacturing, process or mechanical related role will be highly regarded
• A current LF forklift licence and demonstrated operating experience (advantageous)
• Hold a problem solving mindset
• Ability to commit to 8 hour shifts across a Mon‑Fri roster (incl. of day/night/afternoon shifts) with Saturday OT (as required)
• Possess a high level of both written and verbal communication skills, in addition to time management skills and the ability to work to production schedules
• Ability to work proactively whilst unsupervised whilst also being able to work within a team environment
• Possess positive communication skills
• Willingness to undertake a pre‑employment medical assessment (incl. urine based drug & alcohol screening)
