Job summary

Simplot Australia Pty Ltd in Bathurst is seeking Production Operators for the 2026/2027 corn season, starting early November 2026 through May 2027. Night shifts run Monday to Friday, 11:00pm–7:00am, with a base rate of $41.95 per hour plus 30% night shift loading and overtime where applicable.

You’ll contribute to production operations, product inspection, equipment operation, and sanitation under the Production Manager, in a fast-paced, safety-focused environment that supports growing

Qualifications

• 100% commitment to safety, health and wellbeing in the workplace.
• Ability to work 8-hour night shifts on a Monday to Friday roster.
• Experience in vegetable processing or manufacturing is highly regarded.
• Willingness to undertake pre-employment medical assessment.

Responsibilities

• Inspect and grade incoming raw material.
• Remove foreign objects and operate fixed plant processing safely.
• Clean and sanitize production lines and maintain GMP compliance.
• Complete daily shift logs and system entries accurately.
• Operate forklift if licensed and support continuous improvement.

About Our Role

• Casual opportunities supporting Simplot's 2026 / 2027 Corn Season
• Commencing early November 2026, with work available through approx. May 2027
• Night Shift Only – Monday to Friday 11:00pm - 7:00am
• Base rate of $41.95p/h (incl. casual loading) + 30% night-shift loading + overtime where applicable

Simplot is seeking reliable and motivated candidates for casual Production Operator opportunities at our Bathurst food processing facility.

Employing approximately 250 people, the Bathurst site produces some of Australia's most recognised food brands, including Edgell, Birds Eye and Chiko. Recent investment in the site has transformed Bathurst into a frozen vegetable centre of excellence, supporting increased production capacity for both local and export markets.

Reporting to the Production Manager, you'll work as part of a team supporting production operations, product inspection, equipment operation, cleaning and sanitation activities throughout the corn season.

What You Will Do

Working within our process area, duties will include (but are not limited to):

• Inspection & grading of incoming raw material
• Foreign object removal
• Safe operations of fixed plant processing
• Cleaning and sanitising of production lines
• Adherence to GMP and food safety practices
• Accurate completion of daily shift logs / system entries
• Forklift operations (for those suitably licenced & experienced candidates)
• Contribute to continual improvement (CI) processes
• Work within an active manufacturing environment

For forklift (LF) licensed operators, additional duties may include:

• Safe operations of counterbalance forklifts - transporting raw & finished good between production areas
• Use of forklift mounted RF scanners + radio communications
• Pre-start checks
• Operate within cold store environment

About You

• Possess a 100% commitment to safety, health and wellbeing in the workplace
• Ability to work 8-hour night shifts on a Monday to Friday roster
• Ability to undertake repetitive manual handling tasks in an active, manual role
• Capacity to work to Standard Operating Procedures
• Experience in vegetable processing or manufacturing environment will be highly regarded
• Possess a high level of attention to detail with problem solving aptitude
• Sound written and verbal communication skills, in addition to time management skills
• Team player mindset
• A current LF forklift licence and demonstrated operating experience is desirable, however not mandatory
• Willingness to undertake a pre-employment medical assessment (including a urine-based drug & alcohol screening)
• Available to commence in November 2026
