Job summary

Dowell Windows in Smithfield, NSW, is seeking a Production & Operations Support professional to drive continuous improvement and support day-to-day manufacturing activities. You will report to the Manufacturing Manager and contribute to scheduling, service and operational tasks across the site.

This role requires experience in manufacturing environments, proficiency with ERP (Oracle preferred), and strong problem-solving, communication and stakeholder-management skills.

Qualifications

• 2+ years’ experience in Production & Operations Support or similar role.
• Experience in manufacturing, construction, glazing, or operational environments.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
• Experience supporting ERP or business systems, preferably Oracle.
• Exposure to Lean and Six Sigma principles.
• Knowledge of site safety processes and documentation.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate continuous improvement initiatives and document improved processes.
• Identify inefficiencies with site leaders and implement practical improvements.
• Maintain data accuracy and support KPI tracking and reporting.
• Serve as contact for operational issues, ensuring timely follow-up.
• Support Oracle/ERP users and troubleshoot issues.
• Provide day-to-day support across manufacturing, scheduling, service and admin.

About the Role:

We have an exciting opportunity for an organised and proactive Production & Operations Support professional to join our team in Smithfield. Reporting to the Manufacturing Manager, you will play a key role in supporting continuous improvement initiatives across the site, while providing operational support across business systems, scheduling, service, and day-to-day manufacturing activities.

This role is ideal for someone with experience in a manufacturing or operational environment who enjoys problem-solving, supporting teams, and driving process improvements.

Your key responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

• Assist with coordinating continuous improvement initiatives and documenting improved processes and procedures.
• Work closely with site leaders and teams to identify inefficiencies and support practical operational improvements.
• Maintain data accuracy and support operational reporting and KPI tracking.
• Act as a key point of contact for operational issues, ensuring timely follow-up and resolution.
• Support Oracle and business systems by assisting users, troubleshooting issues, and escalating where required.
• Provide day-to-day support across manufacturing, scheduling, service, and administration functions.
• Coordinate and maintain operational documentation, records, and administrative requirements.
• Provide back-up support to Scheduling and Service teams during leave periods, peak workloads, and operational disruptions.
• Support safety processes through the coordination of documentation, actions, and compliance activities.

What We’re Looking For:

• 2+ years’ experience in a Production & Operations Support or similar role
• Exposure to manufacturing, construction, glazing, or operational environments
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
• Experience supporting ERP or business systems, preferably Oracle
• Exposure to Lean and Six Sigma principles
• Knowledge of site safety processes, compliance documentation, or safety administration
• Strong organisational and problem-solving skills with the ability to manage competing priorities
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
• High attention to detail and strong problem-solving abilities
• A positive, collaborative, and customer-focused approach
