Job summary

Yakka Solutions in Parkes, NSW, is seeking a Production Manager to own day-to-day operations across the factory floor, covering assembly, parts manufacturing and spray up.

Job description

Our client manufactures fibreglass tanks, including barrels, domes and roofs, and full assembly of the tanks out of their factory in Parkes. The business has grown steadily on the back of some larger contracts and they're now looking for a Production Manager to take ownership of day-to-day operations across the factory floor.

About the role

This role covers all three sections of the factory, assembly, parts manufacturing and spray up, and involves managing a team of around 22 people. It's a genuine mix of floor presence and office-based work, so you'll need to be comfortable managing schedules, labour and reporting while also being visible and credible with the team day to day.

You'll report directly to the owners, who are looking for someone who can take real ownership of the factory so they can focus on the rest of the business.

You'll be responsible for planning production schedules and labour across all three sections, setting and communicating daily targets, working closely with section leaders to keep things running smoothly, and handling the office side of things including scheduling and labour records. You'll also play a role in supporting quality standards and safe working practices across the floor.

About you

What matters most here is the right person with a strong attitude who can genuinely manage people. Experience in production or factory management would be lovely to have, but it's not the deciding factor.

If you've led a team before, communicate well, and can hold your own in front of a group of tradespeople, this could be a great fit even without a manufacturing background specifically.
