29th October, 2026

We're seeking an experienced and people-focused Production Manager to lead manufacturing operations at Fleetwood's Derrimut facility.
Reporting to the Manufacturing Manager, this role is responsible for the safe, efficient and profitable delivery of modular building production activities. Leading a team of supervisors and production personnel, you'll drive operational performance, workforce capability, safety outcomes and continuous improvement initiatives across the manufacturing function.
This is a key leadership position requiring someone who can step back from the day-to-day operation and lead through others. You'll be responsible for developing supervisors, improving processes, managing production performance and ensuring projects are delivered safely, on time and to the required quality standards. You'll work closely with Construction, Project Management, Design & Estimating, Procurement, Planning & Scheduling, Finance and Sales to support successful project outcomes from manufacture through to site delivery.
We're looking for a strong leader with a construction background and manufacturing experience who understands what is buildable, can influence teams at all levels and is passionate about developing people, improving operational performance and driving strong commercial outcomes. The role will also play a key part in partnering with Planning and Finance teams to support production forecasting, project tracking and Work in Progress (WIP) management.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead, coach and develop supervisors and production teams to achieve safety, quality, delivery and productivity objectives.
  • Manage day-to-day manufacturing operations to ensure projects are delivered on schedule and within budget.
  • Drive a strong safety culture and ensure compliance with all WHSEQ policies, procedures and legislative requirements.
  • Monitor production performance and implement initiatives to improve efficiency, quality and output.
  • Develop, review and optimise manufacturing processes, workflows and production planning activities.
  • Coordinate labour, materials, plant and equipment requirements to support project delivery.
  • Work closely with Planning and Scheduling teams to ensure production activities align with project delivery requirements and manufacturing capacity.
  • Partner with Construction, Project Management and Design teams to ensure products are practical, buildable and delivered to specification.
  • Lead workforce planning activities, including recruitment, succession planning and capability development.
  • Manage production budgets, labour utilisation and operational expenditure.
  • Support financial forecasting, project cost tracking and Work in Progress (WIP) reporting in partnership with Finance and operational stakeholders.
  • Contribute to project reviews and provide accurate production data to support forecasting and business performance reporting.
  • Identify and remove operational bottlenecks to improve business performance.
  • Maintain strong stakeholder relationships with internal teams, subcontractors and suppliers.
  • Drive accountability, performance and continuous improvement across the production function.
  • Contribute to strategic manufacturing and operational planning activities.
  • Ensure all manufacturing activities comply with relevant standards, regulations and company requirements.
  • Prepare and provide operational reporting, performance metrics and recommendations to leadership.
About You
  • Proven experience in a Production Manager, Manufacturing Manager, Operations Manager or similar leadership role.
  • Background within construction, modular construction, manufacturing, building products or a related industry.
  • Demonstrated experience leading leaders, including supervisors, coordinators or frontline management teams.
  • Strong understanding of construction methodologies and what is practically buildable within a manufacturing environment.
  • Proven ability to drive safety, quality, productivity and continuous improvement outcomes.
  • Experience managing production schedules, resources, budgets and operational performance.
  • Exposure to production planning, forecasting, project cost control and/or Work in Progress (WIP) reporting.
  • Strong leadership capability with the ability to coach, develop and hold teams accountable.
  • Well-developed stakeholder management and communication skills.
  • Ability to build effective working relationships across Operations, Planning, Finance, Construction and Project teams.
  • Commercially minded with strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
