Job summary

BlueScope Steel in Unanderra, NSW, seeks a Production Engineer for a 12-month fixed-term contract to enhance safety, quality and efficiency across equipment, processes and systems.

You will analyse production data, implement practical engineering solutions, and support continuous improvement while working with production, maintenance, contractors and suppliers. A Mechanical Engineering degree and experience with LEAN, Six Sigma and FMEA will help you succeed.

Qualifications

• Engineering degree required in a manufacturing setting.
• Experience applying engineering knowledge in manufacturing/industrial environments.
• Knowledge of LEAN, Six Sigma, 5S or similar manufacturing systems.
• FMEA/HAZOP/RCA understanding.
• Ability to analyze data and improve safety, quality and productivity.

Responsibilities

• Analyse production data to identify safety, quality, and productivity improvements.
• Investigate issues and implement practical engineering solutions.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives and equipment upgrades.
• Develop and maintain operating procedures, drawings and project documents.
• Collaborate with production, maintenance, and suppliers.
