Job summary

Marble Group is seeking a Production Driller for an underground hard rock mine near Armidale, NSW. You will join a skilled drilling team and operate Sandvik DL421 and DL422i rigs to complete longhole production drilling in accordance with mine plans.

The role is a casual contract on a 7:7 roster with 12-hour shifts, with hotel-style accommodation for DIDO workers, meal and DIDO allowances, and strong training and career development opportunities from day one.

Qualifications

• Underground hard rock drilling experience required.
• Current driver’s license (manual preferred).
• Ability to obtain National Police Clearance and pass pre-employment medical.
• Willingness to work flexible roster and camp-based conditions.

Responsibilities

• Operate Sandvik DL421 and DL422i rigs for longhole production drilling.
• Set up rigs, drill rings, and ensure designs are followed.
• Conduct pre-start inspections and report defects or maintenance needs.
• Work to production targets with emphasis on safety and quality.
• Collaborate with supervisors and underground crews to maximise productivity.
• Maintain accurate drilling records and shift documentation.

The Mine site

Located in the New England region of NSW, this historic underground mining operation is entering an exciting new chapter of development, offering the opportunity to join a long-life project from the early stages of its growth. The operation offers:

The Role

You will join a skilled underground production team responsible for drilling production stopes within a modern hard rock mining operation. As a Production Driller, you will operate Sandvik DL421 and DL422i longhole production drill rigs while working closely with engineering and production crews to safely achieve daily drilling targets. Your duties will include:

• Operating Sandvik DL421 and Sandvik DL422i production drill rigs to complete longhole production drilling in accordance with mine plans
• Setting up drill rigs, drilling production rings, and ensuring accuracy to design specifications
• Conducting pre-start inspections and reporting equipment defects or maintenance requirements
• Working to production targets and shift KPIs while maintaining high standards of safety and quality
• Collaborating with supervisors, engineers and underground crews to maximize drilling productivity
• Maintaining accurate drilling records and completing required shift documentation

Your Skills and Experience

You will come from a background working as a longhole driller within the underground hardrock mining division. You will also have the following skills and experience:

• Unrestricted driver's license (ability to drive manual vehicles)
• Highly reliable, punctual and trustworthy
• Ability to work autonomously and in a team environment
• Ability to obtain a current National Police Clearance & pass a pre-employment medical

Contract and Salary

Marble is partnered with this underground mining principle to supply casual contractors to the site for an immediate start. The opportunity exists to join the company on an initial 3-month contract through Marble with likely extension to 6 months. After this initial 6-month period, there is the potential to hand over to the principles books directly as a permanent employee although It's not guaranteed)

• Casual rates between $85ph - $90ph + super
• Weekly pay cycles whilst working through Marble
• Weekly tax-free meal allowance and DIDO allowance for those travelling
