Production and Maintenance Planner (Packing Facilities)

Production and Maintenance Planner (Packing Facilities)

About Redland

We grow, harvest, pack and market citrus, pome fruit, table grapes, stone fruit and kiwifruit from our farms across QLD, NSW, VIC and WA. Our vision is to be the producer of the world’s most desired fruit, which means we’re passionate about having the right people in the right roles.

About the role

We’re looking for a Production and Maintenance Planner to join our Supply Chain team and own the planning process for our packing facilities. The role reports to the Manager Supply Chain Planning; you’ll build the weekly and monthly packing plans that keep fruit moving, and the maintenance plans that keep our equipment reliable and available.

The role covers the Redland Packing Facility (RPF) in Mooroopna, Victoria, which operates year-round, and our planned Bottle Tree Farm packing facility in Emerald, Queensland, which is expected to operate during the citrus season.

Role Responsibilities
  • Develop and maintain the weekly and rolling monthly packing plans for all horticultural produce packing activities at RPF and Bottle Tree Farm.
  • Lead the weekly production planning process: prepare planning inputs, facilitate planning meetings, resolve constraints and confirm stakeholder alignment on the final plan.
  • Develop and manage weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual maintenance plans, including equipment shutdown planning.
  • Manage the maintenance backlog and forward log, prioritising work to optimise operational uptime and asset health.
  • Integrate production and maintenance plans, resolving scheduling conflicts to optimise Overall Equipment Effectiveness while maintaining preventative maintenance (PM) compliance.
  • Run weekly week-in-review meetings to assess performance against the previous week’s production and maintenance plans, identify the causes of variances and agree corrective actions.
  • Produce and distribute planning reports and provide packing inputs to the weekly and monthly S&OP reports.
Skills and Experience
  • Proven experience in production planning, maintenance planning or an integrated planning role, preferably in a manufacturing or horticultural packing environment.
  • Strong data analysis and problem-solving skills, with the ability to build efficient plans and identify root causes of deviations.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills (planning models, analysis and reporting) and experience using production planning or scheduling systems.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines in a fast-paced, seasonal environment.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the confidence to challenge operational managers and be challenged in return.
  • Australian work rights and a current driver’s licence.
  • Highly regarded: Experience in horticulture, food processing, meat, poultry, wine, dairy or cold chain logistics; a CMMS (ideally Mex Maintenance); Power BI or Tableau; and a current forklift licence.
