News Corp Australia is seeking an AI Engineer to design, build, and maintain high-performing AI applications, RAG pipelines, and data integrations that power our enterprise finance operations. You will collaborate with our Senior Data Scientist to productionize models and strengthen MLOps.

The role is hands-on, requires 3+ years in software/AI/data engineering, and a Bachelor’s in CS or related field. You’ll work in a hybrid Sydney environment, contributing to robust, scalable solutions across

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent in CS, software/data engineering or related field.
• 3+ years hands-on experience in software/AI/data engineering building production-ready data or AI applications.
• Proficiency in Python and SQL with experience in modern AI tooling and MLOps practices.

Responsibilities

• Production Solution Development: Build, optimize, and deploy modular AI applications, RAG pipelines, and microservices integrated into enterprise Finance tools.
• System Continuity & Keyperson Backup: Co-own codebases, repository standards, and infrastructure to reduce single-point-of-failure risks.
• MLOps, CI/CD & Infrastructure: Maintain Dockerized deployments, automated CI/CD pipelines, API gateways, and vector store instances with clean code architecture.
• Production Support & Observability: Implement real-time monitoring, error logging, rate-limiting, and cost tracking while handling incidents.
• Data Integration: Engineer robust ETL/ELT pipelines using SQL, dbt, and Python to ingest ERP/ledger data and unstructured documents into AI contexts.
