Job summary
BlueScope is seeking an AI Engineer to design, develop and deploy enterprise AI solutions across global operations. This hands-on role focuses on production-grade AI, GenAI, RAG, and secure platform components, reporting to the Global Lead Advanced Analytics.
The position is based in Melbourne (CBD) or Sydney (Mascot) and requires strong Python, cloud experience and a delivery mindset to build trustworthy AI products.
Qualifications
- Hands-on software engineer with production systems experience.
- Experience applying AI/ML techniques to business problems.
- Ability to design, implement, test, deploy, monitor and improve AI-enabled software products.
- Experience designing enterprise applications or digital products.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop and support production-grade AI applications and services.
- Build Generative AI capabilities including RAG and agentic solutions.
- Develop scalable AI products that improve performance and decision-making.
- Enhance reusable AI platform components, standards and templates.
- Support computer vision initiatives for manufacturing use cases.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to prioritise and deliver AI opportunities.
- Integrate AI solutions with enterprise systems and workflows.
- Ensure secure, scalable AI solutions aligned with responsible AI.
- Implement secure enterprise integration, IAM and CI/CD practices.
- Develop production-grade RAG/GenAI patterns and lifecycle support.
- Contribute to technical product ownership and documentation.
