Job summary

Ampcontrol is seeking a Product Engineer to join our Cameron Park team. You will work with engineering, R&D and production to improve existing products, introduce new products to manufacturing, and tackle complex technical challenges.

You’ll help ensure safety, reliability, manufacturability and cost-effectiveness across projects. Reporting to the Engineering Manager, you’ll contribute to testing, documentation and engineering processes while collaborating across manufacturing to enhance quality

Qualifications

• Degree in Electrical/Electronics engineering.
• At least 3 years’ experience post-graduation.
• Experience in electrical/electronics engineering within a manufacturing environment.
• Knowledge of engineering standards, quality systems and product certification.

Responsibilities

• Improve existing products and manufacturing processes.
• Support new product development and transition to production.
• Investigate and resolve technical and manufacturing issues.
• Develop and maintain testing, documentation and processes.
• Ensure compliance with standards and quality requirements.

The Opportunity

We’re looking for a Product Engineer to join our team and help turn great engineering into reliable, commercially viable products. Reporting to the Engineering Manager, you’ll work closely with engineering, R&D and production teams to improve existing products, introduce new products into manufacturing and solve complex technical challenges.

You’ll play a key role in ensuring our products are safe, reliable, manufacturable and cost-effective, while helping our production teams operate efficiently.

What You’ll Do

• Improve existing products, manufacturing processes and engineering systems.
• Support new product development and transition products from R&D into production.
• Investigate and resolve technical, manufacturing and product issues.
• Develop and maintain testing, documentation and engineering processes.
• Ensure compliance with relevant standards, certification and quality requirements.
• Work closely with engineering, R&D and production teams to improve quality, reliability and efficiency.
• Provide technical support, fault-finding and problem-solving across manufacturing.
• Identify opportunities to reduce waste, improve processes and optimise costs.

About You

You’re a practical, solutions-focused engineer who enjoys working across engineering and manufacturing. You’ll bring:

• Degree in Electrical, Electronics or a related engineering discipline.
• At least 3 years’ experience post-graduation
• Experience in electrical/electronics engineering within a manufacturing environment.
• Strong problem-solving, fault-finding and technical skills.
• Knowledge of engineering standards, quality systems and product certification.
• Ability to read electrical schematics and technical documentation.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Experience with hazardous area products or certification will be highly regarded
