as we inspire wellness through#PurposeLedCareers – Collingwood VIC is seeking a Product Development Associate to turn innovation concepts into commercially viable products across our China CBEC portfolio. You will partner with Marketing, Science, Quality, Regulatory, Sourcing and manufacturing teams to support development from concept through to launch and ongoing improvement.

The role requires 3+ years in pharma, supplements or FMCG, with experience in formulation development, GMP environments

Qualifications

• Tertiary qualifications in Pharmaceutical Science or Formulation Science.
• Experience in complementary medicines, supplements, pharmaceutical or FMCG industries.
• Experience developing tablet, capsule, powder, liquid and nutraceutical formulations.
• Experience supporting product development from concept to commercial launch, including feasibility, trial coordination, and documentation.
• Experience working in a GMP/TGA manufacturing environment and regulatory considerations.

Responsibilities

• Own and lead product development activities across a portfolio from concept to commercialisation.
• Translate concepts into viable products with internal and external partners for formulation and launch.
• Support sourcing to identify and brief new manufacturing partners and optimise existing portfolios.
• Collaborate with Marketing, Science, Regulatory and Commercial teams on new product opportunities.
• Investigate product, formulation, and process challenges with technical analysis and risk-based solutions.
• Coordinate trials, scale-up activities and manufacturing validation for successful commercialisation.
• Maintain technical documentation and project records for governance and Stage Gate requirements.

Your role within the team

As a Product Development Associate, you will turn innovation concepts into commercially viable products across the China CBEC portfolio. Partnering with Marketing, Science, Quality, Regulatory, Sourcing and manufacturing teams, you will support product development from concept and feasibility through to commercialisation and ongoing optimisation. You will also contribute to product quality, compliance and operational excellence through formulation development, manufacturing trials, stability monitoring, technical investigations and continuous improvement.

Key responsibilities include:

Own and lead product development activities across a portfolio of China CBEC NPD and EPD projects, ensuring delivery from concept through to commercialisation.

Translate product concepts into commercially viable products by partnering with internal stakeholders and external manufacturing partners to progress formulation, feasibility, scale-up and launch activities.

Support Sourcing and Procurement teams to identify, onboard and brief new manufacturing partners, while driving continuous improvement and optimisation across existing product portfolios.

Collaborate with Marketing, Science, Regulatory and Commercial teams to identify consumer-led opportunities and develop innovative concepts for the NPD pipeline.

Partner with Quality and Manufacturing teams to investigate product, formulation and process-related challenges, providing technical analysis, recommendations and risk-based solutions that support decision-making and product performance.

Coordinate product trials, scale-up activities and manufacturing validation to support successful commercialisation and ongoing product improvement.

Interpret technical and stability data, identify trends, and provide insights and recommendations that support product quality, compliance and lifecycle management.

Develop and maintain technical documentation, specifications and project records to support governance, compliance and Stage Gate requirements.

To set you up for success in this role, you will bring:

Tertiary qualifications in Pharmaceutical Science, Formulation Science or a related Applied Science.

At least 3 years’ experience in the complementary medicines, supplements, pharmaceutical or FMCG industry, with exposure to a manufacturing environment.

Experience developing tablet, capsule, powder, liquid, softgel and nutraceutical formulations.

Experience supporting product development projects from concept through to commercial launch, including feasibility assessments, formulation development, raw material selection, trial coordination, specification review, technical documentation and product lifecycle management.

Experience working in a TGA and GMP manufacturing environment, with an understanding of product scale-up processes, pilot trials, pre-commercialisation activities and technology transfer requirements.

Sound knowledge of complementary medicines regulatory environments, requirements and industry standards, including TGA, FDA and China GB regulations.

Ability to review and interpret technical documentation, including Certificates of Analysis (CoAs), raw material specifications, manufacturing documentation, validation reports and stability studies.

Proficiency in interpreting stability data, identifying trends, and translating findings into actionable insights and recommendations that support product quality, risk management and evidence-based decision-making throughout the product lifecycle.

Availability to travel locally and interstate to support business needs as required.
