Job summary

Australian Theatre for Young People in Sydney is seeking a Producer to join our small team and collaborate with the Artistic Director & CEO on the artistic program. You’ll oversee the season from pre-production to closing night, managing budgets, contracts, casting and schedules, while keeping productions safe for young artists.

You’ll also help expand touring by securing presenters, drafting tour budgets and agreements, and exploring new projects with feasibility testing and artist discovery.

Qualifications

• Experience producing theatre or live performance with budgets.
• Experience negotiating contracts with artists, creatives and presenters.
• Experience scoping projects and building budgets, schedules and resourcing.
• Strong communication and stakeholder relationships.
• Excellent organisational skills and ability to juggle multiple projects.
• Knowledge of the Australian theatre sector and interest in new work for young people.
• Current NSW Working With Children Check or ability to obtain one.

Responsibilities

• You’ll produce our season from pre-production through closing night and acquittal.
• You’ll manage budgets, contracts, casting and schedules, and ensure safety for young artists.
• You’ll help grow touring by finding presenters and building tour budgets and agreements.
• You’ll scope new projects, test feasibility, and identify artists and stories to back.
