Job Description
Placed.au is seeking a full-time Procurement Specialist for a client in Tottenham, Victoria. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing procurement activities, coordinating suppliers, supporting purchasing processes, and ensuring goods and services are sourced efficiently and in accordance with business requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- -Develop and implement procurement strategies aligned with business requirements and operational objectives.
- -Identify, evaluate, and maintain relationships with suppliers and service providers.
- -Source products, materials, and services while obtaining and assessing quotations and pricing.
- -Negotiate pricing, terms, delivery schedules, and contractual arrangements with suppliers.
- -Prepare and process purchase orders and procurement documentation.
- -Monitor supplier performance, delivery schedules, quality, and compliance with agreed terms.
- -Maintain accurate procurement, supplier, pricing, and purchasing records.
- -Review purchasing requirements and coordinate with internal departments to ensure timely supply.
- -Analyse procurement costs, market conditions, supplier performance, and opportunities for cost savings.
- -Assist with contract negotiations and the review of supplier agreements.
- -Resolve purchasing, delivery, quality, and supplier-related issues in a timely manner.
- -Ensure procurement activities comply with company policies, procedures, and relevant requirements.
- -Prepare procurement reports and provide recommendations to management.
- -Support continuous improvement of procurement processes, systems, and supplier management practices.
- -Perform other procurement and supply-related duties as required.
Qualifications / Attributes
- -Must hold a Bachelor’s degree in a related field, or at least 5 years of relevant work experience in lieu of the qualification.
- -Must have at least 1 year of relevant work experience in procurement, purchasing, supply chain, or a closely related role.
- -Strong knowledge of procurement principles, supplier management, purchasing processes, and contract administration.
- -Excellent negotiation, communication, organisational, and analytical skills.
- -Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
- -Proficiency in Microsoft Office and relevant procurement or ERP systems.
- -Ability to work independently and collaboratively with internal teams and external suppliers.
- -Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to procurement activities.
Salary Range: $75,000 – $100,000 per annum excluding superannuation.
