Job summary

The Australian Taxation Office is seeking experienced Procurement Officers to join the Procurement and Leasing branch. You will support sourcing, acquisitions and leases for the agency, developing strategies and negotiating contracts to achieve value for money.

As a trusted advisor, you will guide stakeholders through the Commonwealth Procurement Framework, review planning and tender documents, support market research and contract negotiations, and manage procurement systems.

Qualifications

• Experience in sourcing and acquiring goods, services and leases.
• Ability to develop procurement strategies and negotiate contracts.
• Knowledge of Commonwealth Procurement Framework and compliance.

Responsibilities

• Act as a trusted advisor to stakeholders, guiding them through procurement protocols and reviewing planning and tender documentation.
• Support market research, contract negotiations, and the management of procurement systems.
• Provide probity and contract management advice, support capability uplift, and conduct data analysis to identify procurement trends and risks.
• Contribute to innovation and continuous quality improvement initiatives within the branch.

Job description

We are seeking experienced and dedicated Procurement Officers to join our Procurement and Leasing branch.

As a Procurement Officer, you will be responsible for supporting the sourcing and acquiring of goods and services and leases for the ATO. You may develop procurement strategies, negotiate contracts, manage supplier relationships, and ensure compliance with regulations and policies. Your role will be crucial for achieving cost-effective and timely procurement outcomes while maintaining quality standards and supporting broader agency goals. The role provides the opportunity to work with business partners, influence key decisions and assist to produce exceptional outcomes for the community in the spending of public monies.

You will act as a trusted advisor to a range of stakeholders, leveraging your comprehensive knowledge of the Commonwealth Procurement Framework to guide them through complex procurement protocols. You’ll take the lead in providing specialist advice to stakeholders on procurement activities, including reviewing planning and tender documentation, supporting market research and contract negotiations and the management of procurement related systems. You’ll support branch projects, provide probity and contract management advice, support internal capability uplift, and conduct data analysis to identify procurement trends and escalate risks. Additionally, you’ll contribute to innovation and continuous quality improvement initiatives in the branch.

These roles may be offered on an ongoing or non-ongoing basis in Adelaide, Albury, Brisbane CBD, Canberra, Melbourne CBD, Sydney CBD or Upper Mount Gravatt.
