Job description

Step into a visible, high-impact role as Procurement Manager – Technology, based in our Surry Hills office on a 12-month maximum-term contract.

Reporting directly to the Head of Procurement, you will act as a primary commercial partner across our technology, digital, platform and data categories. This is a visible, hands-on role where you will establish and execute an annual procurement work program, lead complex commercial negotiations and partner closely with key internal functions- including Legal, Finance, Global, and Cyber - to ensure News Corps operational, security and financial interests are protected throughout the entire contract lifecycle.

Main Responsibilities
Strategic Sourcing & Execution

Lead the end-to-end procurement lifecycle across technology categories, including strategy development, market engagement, tendering, supplier evaluation and contract execution.

Draft, structure and negotiate high-quality, fit-for-purpose commercial contracts for low- to high-risk engagements.

Prepare and present clear, data-backed award recommendations to executive leadership.

Partner closely with Commercial Finance to ensure deals align with operating budget envelopes.

Drive initiatives to deliver on individual and team-wide annual cost-optimisation targets without compromising operational performance.

Build and manage strategic supplier relationships to secure market-competitive rates and sustained commercial value.

Contract Governance & Risk Management

Guide business stakeholders on contract lifecycle management, proactively handling claims, disputes, renewals, and variations.

Partner with Legal, Cyber and Global teams to safeguard NCA's compliance, IP and data security standards.

Identify operational and supply chain risks early, embedding robust mitigation strategies into agreements.

Who are you?

5–7+ years of experience in strategic sourcing, category management or commercial contract management within a complex corporate environment.

Proven track record partnering with technical teams, with the ability to translate complex IT, platform, and digital requirements into robust commercial documents.

Strong background in contract review, drafting and supplier dispute management in close alignment with Legal counsel.

Highly commercially astute and data-driven, using market insights and metrics to challenge the status quo and unlock value.

Exceptional relationship builder and influencer who can respectfully challenge assumptions and engage everyone from front-line engineers to senior executives.

Experience within a media, digital platform, or broadcast environment is highly regarded.
