Job summary
Sharp & Carter in regional Victoria seeks a Purchasing Manager to lead a small procurement team, own the PO and requisition cycle, and ensure on-time materials flow into the plant. The role emphasizes reading technical drawings for bespoke purchases, driving ERP rollout and process improvement as the business transitions to a new ERP system, with autonomy and strategic impact.
You will collaborate with Operations, Engineering and Strategic Sourcing to close gaps and build a structured supply
Qualifications
- Background in procurement within manufacturing or industrial environments, low volume, high value
- Demonstrated ability to lead and develop a team
- Comfortable working autonomously with proactive mindset
- Experience with ERP systems and process improvement during system transitions
Responsibilities
- Manage the full purchase order and requisition cycle
- Own on-time delivery and materials flow into the plant
- Lead and develop a small procurement team
- Read and interpret technical drawings for bespoke procurement decisions
- Support rollout and embedding of ERP processes and reporting
- Drive continuous improvement across procurement processes
- Partner with Operations, Engineering and Strategic Sourcing
