Job summary

NSW Treasury is seeking a Category Officer for Procurement Reform and Banking in Sydney. You will provide specialist procurement advice and support broader category management across whole-of-government arrangements, conducting market research, spend analysis, and briefing material preparation.

You will collaborate with NSW agencies, suppliers and stakeholders to monitor performance and drive effective procurement outcomes, while developing your category management and commercial capabilities in

Qualifications

• Experience supporting procurement, category management, or contract management.
• Relevant qualifications or experience in procurement or commercial environment.
• Strong analytical skills with spend data and procurement tools such as Excel and Power Apps.

Responsibilities

• Provide specialist procurement advice and support for category management and whole-of-government arrangements.
• Undertake market and supplier research, analyse spend data, and prepare reports and briefing materials.
• Coordinate input from stakeholders and monitor supplier performance and contracts.
• Work with NSW Government agencies, suppliers and service providers to achieve procurement outcomes.
• Contribute to development of category planning, sourcing and contract management activities.
