Job summary

Downer is seeking a Procurement Advisor for its Water Services team, based at Brisbane Airport with flexible working arrangements, to support procurement strategy, sourcing, contracting and supplier engagement across South East Queensland.

You will work with project, commercial and procurement stakeholders to deliver sourcing activities, Target Outturn Cost development, and ensure value for money on major water infrastructure projects in the region.

Qualifications

• 5+ years' procurement experience on capital projects in utilities, infrastructure, construction or resources.
• Strong sourcing, subcontracting, supplier negotiation and contract management.
• Sound knowledge of Australian construction contracts and procurement best practice.
• Excellent stakeholder engagement and relationship-building skills.
• Degree in related discipline; CIPS accreditation valued.

Responsibilities

• Support development and execution of procurement strategies for major infrastructure projects.
• Lead or support sourcing activities, RFQs/RFPs, supplier negotiations and subcontractor engagement.
• Manage procurement delivery, expediting materials and mitigating risks.
• Collaborate with project delivery, commercial teams and procurement hubs to drive value, compliance, and performance.
• Analyse procurement data and monitor market trends for continuous improvement.

Join Downer's Water Services team as a Procurement Advisor supporting major water infrastructure projects across South East Queensland. Based at Brisbane Airport with flexible working arrangements, you'll play a key role in procurement strategy, sourcing, contracting, and supplier engagement while contributing to critical infrastructure that supports local communities.

The Opportunity

Downer's Water Services business is seeking an experienced Procurement Advisor to join our growing Queensland team. Reporting to the Senior Procurement Advisor, you'll play a critical role in supporting the delivery of major water infrastructure projects across South East Queensland. Based primarily from our Qantas Drive (Brisbane Airport) office, with occasional travel to project locations including Duncan Street and Mango Hill, you'll work closely with project, commercial, operational and procurement stakeholders to develop procurement strategies, support Target Outturn Cost development, and deliver sourcing and contracting activities that drive strong commercial outcomes. This role offers the opportunity to work within a collaborative and high-performing team delivering essential infrastructure projects that support Queensland communities.

What We're Looking For

• 5+ years' procurement experience supporting capital projects within utilities, infrastructure, construction or resources environments.
• Strong sourcing, subcontracting, supplier negotiation, and contract management experience.
• Sound knowledge of Australian construction contracts and procurement best practice.
• Excellent stakeholder engagement skills with the ability to influence and build trusted relationships.
• Tertiary qualification in Supply Chain, Commerce, Engineering, Construction Management or related discipline. CIPS accreditation will be highly regarded.
