Job summary

Southern Steel QLD is seeking an experienced Processing Supervisor to join our Mackay branch. You will oversee day-to-day processing operations, coordinating people, machinery and production schedules to maximise productivity and meet customer requirements.

You will lead a hands-on team, ensure safety and quality, and work with warehouse and sales to despatch orders on time. This role offers an immediate start or flexible start in 2027 depending on availability.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and coordinate processing personnel, including machine operators and programming personnel.
• Plan and prioritise production schedules to meet customer deadlines.
• Allocate labour and resources to maximise productivity and machine utilisation.
• Monitor production progress and communicate delays or issues to relevant departments.
• Work closely with the warehouse and sales teams to ensure orders are processed and available for despatch on time.
• Monitor machine performance, identify downtime and support continuous improvement.
• Maintain product quality and ensure compliance with workplace health and safety requirements.
• Support the training and development of team members to maintain a skilled and competent workforce.

About the Role

Reporting to the Branch Manager, you will oversee the day‑to‑day processing operations, coordinating people, machinery and production schedules to maximise productivity and meet customer requirements.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Supervising and coordinating processing personnel, including machine operators and programming personnel.
• Planning and prioritising production schedules to meet customer deadlines.
• Allocating labour and resources to maximise productivity and machine utilisation.
