The Role

We have permanent full-time positions available in Castlemaine on both day and afternoon shifts. Both shifts include rostered days off, with afternoon shifts receiving additional penalty rates.

Rosters available

• Day Shift: Approximately 5:00 am to 3:00 pm — Starting pay rate $24.58 per hour + RDO (subject to availability)
• Day Shift: Approximately 6:00 am to 3:00 pm — Starting pay rate $24.58 per hour + RDO
• Afternoon Shift: Approximately 3:00 pm to Midnight — Starting pay rate $28.26 per hour (including penalty) + RDO

Your duties

• Operate and maintain machinery and equipment used in meat processing, including tasks such as packing, slicing, lifting, pushing, pulling, holding, and carrying
• Handle both raw and cooked meat products
• Adhere to strict food safety and quality standards throughout the production process
• Maintain a clean and organised work environment
• Collaborate with the production team and supervisors to ensure smooth production flow and achieve daily targets
• Rotate tasks to ensure variety in daily duties
• Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives to enhance productivity and efficiency

About You

• A strong commitment to safe work practices at all times
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to work well with other team members
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment while completing repetitive tasks
• Able to stand for extended periods
• Comfortably lift weights of 15-20 kg frequently
• Able to work in chilled temperature rooms
• A hardworking attitude and the ability to communicate and interact with people at all levels
• Commitment to following established procedures and health and safety practices
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
• A genuine commitment to full-time working hours
• Must pass a pre-employment medical, including drug and alcohol screening

Please note that previous factory experience is not a requirement for these roles, all employment comes with paid on the job training. To be considered for this role, you must have full work rights in Australia.
