Job summary

Northern Star Resources invites experienced Process Technicians to join the residential KCGM Fimiston operation in Kalgoorlie, WA. You’ll report to the Processing Supervisor and operate all sections of the processing plant, with basic maintenance and strict safety adherence.

Be part of a major plant expansion and work within a dynamic team across shifts, coordinating critical production information while upholding health, safety and environmental standards in challenging conditions.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year’s relevant experience at a Processing Plant within the mining industry.
• Sound knowledge in gold processing with mechanical altitude
• Able to work as part of a team and foster team building relationships
• Ability to work unsupervised and also train and transfer knowledge in alignment with the department training matrix
• Work with attention to detail and have strong communication skills
• Keen to learn attitude and asks for help
• Basic Computer literacy – Microsoft Office and Excel

Responsibilities

• Operate all sections of the processing plant, including Crushing, Grinding, Gravity Separation, Floatation, Leaching, Elution and Paste Plant, per parameters to optimise gold production/recovery.
• Perform basic maintenance of operational equipment within the Processing Department.
• Coordinate across shifts and communicate daily instructions from the crew leader; liaise with maintenance to keep operations safe and efficient.
• Identify and report anomalies; uphold health and safety standards; contribute to continuous improvement while protecting people, equipment and environment.
• Identify and rectify risks associated with exposure to large industrial equipment, chemicals, noise, weather and heights.

We are looking for an experienced residential Process Technicianto join our KCGM Fimiston Operation.

Reporting toProcessing Supervisor you will operate all sections of the processing plant which include, Crushing, Grinding, Gravity Separation, Floatation, Leaching, Elution and Paste Plant in accordance with specified parameters to optimise gold production/ recovery. This also includes basic maintenance of operational equipment within the Processing Department.

Seamlessly coordinate across shifts to share critical production info, maintaining and sampling from large-scale plant equipment in demanding conditions. Communicate and act on daily instructions from the crew leader and liaise with maintenance to keep operations running efficiently and safely.
• Proactively identify and complete operational checks, report anomalies, uphold strict health and safety standards, and contribute to continuous improvement while protecting people, equipment, and the environment.
• Identify, report on and rectify risks, associated with exposure to large industrial equipment, electrical parts, chemicals, cold, heat, dust, lubricants, noise, weather, confined spaces and heights.
• Proactive involvement with continuous improvement processes. Active participation in all communication and awareness systems. Manage all activities in a manner that prevents pollution and minimises damage to the natural environment.
